ORR Bilingual (Spanish/English) Senior Youth Care Worker

Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by Farm student housing for 300 + youth, a Thrift Store, Cafe, Barbershop and Church open to the community incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, an athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more).

Pay: starting at $17.50 an hour Schedule includes 4 hours of guaranteed overtime each pay period

What you will do: Youth Care Workers work directly with the youth providing supervision. They work with the youth to make sure the day-to-day schedule is followed. Responsibilities can include supervising youth in the school, taking youth to medical appointments or outings.

To be considered you should: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent ~Bilingual in Spanish and English~ 1 year of working in a child welfare or agency setting ~ Internal applicants must be a Coach Counselor with no less than standard performance and at least 90 days of experience at Rite of Passage in a Coach Counselor or higher Direct Care Position. Staff in this position must have completed Initial Qualifications Training (Tech 22) prior to placement in this position~ External candidates must have 1 year prior experience working with at-risk youth in a similar position as a Coach Counselor or higher Direct Care position or at least 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study. Staff must complete Operations, Treatment and Human Resources Essential Subject
Training within 6 months of placement in the position~ Supervisory experience preferred~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC), physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Schedule: Two Shifts
A Shift Days – Sunday to Every other Wednesday 7a-8p or 8a-9p *1 hour break each day*
B Shift Days –Every other Wednesday to Saturday 7a-8p or 8a-9p *1 hour break each day*
A Shift Nights – Sunday to Every other Wednesday8p-8a
B Shift Nights –Every other Wednesday to Saturday 8p-8a
