Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthodontic Assistant to join our clinical team. This role involves providing chairside support to the orthodontist during patient procedures, maintaining a sterile and organized clinical environment, and ensuring an exceptional experience for every patient.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality orthodontic care in a collaborative, patient-centered practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures and provide chairside assistance to the orthodontist
   
• Assist in the placement and removal of orthodontic appliances and wires
   
• Take and process digital X-rays, intraoral photos, and impressions or digital scans
   
• Maintain and sterilize instruments and treatment areas in compliance with infection control protocols
   
• Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment instructions
   
• Accurately document patient information and clinical notes in the dental software
   
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
   
• Support a positive team environment and uphold the practice’s commitment to excellence
   

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
   
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
   
• State dental assisting license and certifications (as required by state)
   
• Current radiology certification
   
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
   
• Minimum 1 year of orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred
   
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
   
• Proficiency with dental software systems (e.g., Dolphin, Orthotrac, or similar) is a plus
