Job Description - Orthopedic Medical Assistant

Are you passionate about orthopedic care and making a positive impact on patients' lives? DMC is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant (MA) with orthopedic experience to join our dynamic Sports Medicine team and contribute to the excellence of our specialty department. This position is primarily in our Wellness clinic in Derry, but the successful candidate is expected to be flexible in going to other clinic locations.

Responsibilities:

Assist Sports Medicine provider in a Family Medicine Specialty Clinic setting, in the assessment, treatment, and care of patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
Perform chart prep prior to appointment, call patients (as needed) to obtain information or to instruct for pre-visit imaging or tests.
Room patients, including taking vital signs.
Instruct patients and their families on post-visit care, rehab exercises, and proper use of orthopedic devices.
Open to rooming other providers (including Family Medicine &/or other specialty providers) as needed.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited orthopedic technology program preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an orthopedic care setting or Primary Care setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
