Orthopedic Technician

Description

Responsibilities:

1. Assists Providers with applying, adjusting, and removing orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, and braces.

2.Assists in patient examinations, minor procedures, and wound care.

3.Educates patients on proper care of orthopedic devices and post-treatment care.

4.Prepares and maintains equipment and treatment areas.

5.Documents patient information and care procedures.

6.Assists with vitals, exam preparation, and verify prescriptions per physician orders.

7.Able to identify common fractures and dislocations on X-ray images.

8.Reviews standard admission and pre-op instructions with surgical patients.

9.Instructs patient on pre and post operative care.

10.Assists with aspirations and prepare injections for administration.

11.Manages patient care duties, including checking schedules and patient flow coordination.

12.Maintains safety standards and infection control practices.

13.Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.

14.Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

15.Performs other duties as required.
