OTR Tire Service Technician

Position Summary

The OTR driver operates a large truck with a tire manipulator to repair or replace tires on large equipment at customer locations.

Essential Functions

• Mounts, demounts, balances and repairs OTR or other tires and wheels as directed. 
• Performs tire and tire-related services for OTR (and smaller) tires at the customer's location, job site, or any other location according to customer requirements.
• Transport tires, air compressors, tools, and other equipment 
• Operate and maintain a service truck in a safe manor.
• Be able to work independently from job site to job site. Makes decisions independently while away from the shop.
• Be cognizant of mechanical issues with your service truck/ tools; proactive in reporting potential issues
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience changing OTR tires
• Ability to install OTR tires off site
• Excellent customer service skills
• Attention to detail
• Good safety record
• Valid CDL license - in good standing
• TIA certification (Preferred)

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Work in environment temperatures range from extremely hot to extremely cold, depending on the season.
• Lifting and maneuvering heavy tires, often on uneven surfaces
• Frequent squatting, bending, and twisting. 
• Lifting: frequent lifting over 50 pounds from ground to chest high
• Repetitive motion 
• Sustained Vibrations
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Vision (Near, distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception) 
• Sense of sound (Alarms, horns and motorized equipment)
• PPE: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Glasses, gloves, safety harnesses, steel reinforced footwear)

Education: 

• High School Diploma or GED, equivalent work experience

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience changing OTR tires

Certifications/Licenses: 

• TIA Certification, CDL
