Job Description - Outboard Motor Sales Consultant

Boater’s World Marine Centers is looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Outboard Motor Sales Consultant / Repower Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the marine industry, who thrives in a customer-facing sales environment and has a strong understanding of outboard engine products and repower solutions.

Whether assisting customers with new engine purchases or advising on full repower projects, this position plays a key role in helping clients make informed decisions and ensuring a high-quality experience from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients visiting or contacting the dealership.
  • Maintain expert-level product knowledge on outboard motors (e.g., Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki), rigging, and repower options.
  • Assess customer needs and recommend solutions, whether it's a new engine purchase or a complete repower.
  • Collaborate with the service department to evaluate repower feasibility, scheduling, and installation timelines.
  • Guide customers through the sales process, from initial inquiry to post-sale support.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales and performance goals.
  • Enter all deals and repower details accurately into the dealer management system.
  • Follow up on leads and manage your sales funnel through the company’s approved CRM.
  • Stay current with new products, industry trends, and manufacturer programs.
  • Build lasting relationships with customers and foster repeat and referral business.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support dealership operations and growth.

Requirements

 

  • Sales experience, preferably in marine, automotive, or powersports environments.
  • Solid understanding of outboard motors, repower applications, and marine equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • CRM and dealer management system experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated.
  • Comfortable working weekends and adapting to seasonal business demands.
