Job Description - Outbound Logistics Coordinator

SUMMARY:


This position will be responsible for mapping and routing delivery of loads of food products for day-to-day workflow. This position will be responsible for communicating and collaborating with warehouse and transportation departments efficiently and effectively.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Build outbound delivery routes in coordination with other departments.

  • Communicate daily outbound routing and scheduling with colleagues and customers.

  • Prepare documentation for routes, stickers, and other required materials.

  • Map products to fit trailer/route specifications and complete load map paperwork for warehouse.

  • Identifies opportunities to foster continuous improvement proposes to department, leadership & company for implementation.

  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.

  • Adheres to policies and practices as determined by Upper Lakes Foods.

  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

  • Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.

  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential elements as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


Education



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent


Experience



  • 1-3 years' experience in logistics, transportation, or customer service


Skills



  • Understanding of the relationship between cube size, stops, and weight restrictions for loading and unloading.

  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and good organizational skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Systems.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or transportation management.

  • Knowledge of DOT standards for loads, weights, and requirements.

  • Knowledge of warehouse order picking, loading, and palletizing.

  • Knowledge of RoadNet and Target™ ERP Systems.


PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION & WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Typical office environment with desks, chairs, computer equipment/monitors, overhead shelves & filing cabinets, and telephone interactions.

  • Sitting or standing at workstation 85% of the time; standing or walking away from workstation 15% of time.

  • May include occasionally walking through noisy warehouse environment.

  • Infrequent travel <10% of time.

  • Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
