Job Description - Outpatient Billing Specialist - Dunn, NC

Outpatient Billing Specialist (referrals, insurance verifications

and authorizations)

Full Time- Dunn, NC

• Responsible for verification of benefits by checking primary, secondary

and tertiary benefits for new and existing patients.

• Responsible for entering insurance and benefit information and admitting

patients in the therapy EMR

• Responsible for assisting patients with their account to include taking

payments and posting patient responsibility payments.

• Responsible for obtaining all prior authorizations and reauthorizations for

each outpatient clinic assigned. Attaching the initial and reauthorizations

to case manager and enter authorization details in the EMR patient

record.

• Responsible for filing insurance authorization appeals and

reconsiderations.

• Responsible for effectively communicating authorization information to

other members of the billing team as well as field staff managers (Program

Managers and/or Therapy Techs)

• Other duties as assigned.
