Outpatient Clinic Nurse - LPN Required

Wage: $26.62 to $33.28 (depending on experience, education, & licensure) with yearly merit-based raises.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week.

Position Overview:
Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in an outpatient clinic setting to assess and support our multidisciplinary team in treatment as we strive to meet the health needs of the children and families we serve.

What You'll Do:

• Nursing Process: Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process to meet the needs of patients we serve.
• Collaboration: Work within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate age-specific clinical care. Build and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, medical staff, therapists, overseeing agencies, and the public.
• Administer Medications and Treatments: Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring safety, accuracy, and adherence to protocols.
• Compliance: Ensure accurate and thorough clinical documentation. Adhere to nursing principles, policies, and procedures set by Children’s Home Society and accrediting bodies. Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.
• Nursing Expertise: Deliver care in alignment with best practices and evidence-based research, demonstrating nursing competency.
• Infection Control: Implement and uphold current infection control policies to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, clients, and staff.
• Education: Develop and deliver training on medical guidelines and procedures to staff. Educate patients on self-care practices and lifestyle adjustments to support successful treatment outcomes.

Education:

• Licensed Practical Nurse from an accredited nursing program required.
• Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing program preferred.

License/Certification:

• Licensed Practical Nurse in South Dakota required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (can be obtained within six months of hire).
• Valid South Dakota Driver License required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in South Dakota or meet multi-state licensure requirements preferred.

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred as well as a thorough knowledge of nursing practice and standards of nursing care.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Clinic environment focused on care of men, women, and children in an outpatient setting. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional on call hours required.
