Job Description - Outpatient Neurologist - NH

Credentialing Timeframe:	30 days
Work Schedule:	2/3 weeks consecutively per month Monday - Friday 8AM-5PM 3-4 days/week at AVH in Berlin, NH and 1-2 days/week at UCVH in Colebrook, NH. No call
Patient Volume:	Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (mostly adults and adolescents) including medication management, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally, referral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCP’s. Appointment durations would begin at 40-60 minutes to allow for orientation to AVH and its EMR. At an appropriate time (usually 2-4 weeks), appointment durations would be reduced to match standards for AVH neurologists, i.e., 20 minutes for established patients and 60 minutes for new patients. Typical productivity (based on usual mix of new and established patients) will be 12 to 16 patients per day. In general, 2 to 4 new patients per day. Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (adolescents age 16 and older as well as adults), including medication management, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally, referral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCP’s. Most commonly diagnoses encountered are: Migraine Memory loss Essential tremor Parkinson’s disease Cognitive impairment Dizziness Epilepsy Multiple sclerosis Polyneuropathy Headache Partners with other members of neurology team (e.g., neurologist colleague, radiologist, EEG technologists, MA’s and RN’s, physical therapists).
Procedures:	Skills to perform (without a technician) and interpret EMG's - This is a Must Ability to interpret EEG studies desirable but not required. Ability to perform Botox injections desirable but not required.
EMR:	Meditech Expanse
License Needed:	NH license is preferred but will take IMLC active candidates for this. They cannot start full payor enrollment until they are NH licensed (full license not temp)
Certifications Needed:	BLS, ATLS required
Relevant Experience/Skill Set Needed:	2-5 years of outpatient Neurology experience in broad spectrum of general neurology.
