Job Description - Outpatient Pediatrician - Coal Grove, OH

Position Summary:


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our growing team at our Clinic in Coal Grove, Ohio. This outpatient position offers the opportunity to provide primary and preventive care for pediatric patients from newborn to age 18, including routine check-ups, immunizations, and treatment for common illnesses and injuries. As a Pediatrician at OVP Health Care, you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality care to underserved communities while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide comprehensive medical care to pediatric patients, including well-child visits, preventive care, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

  • Diagnose and treat a variety of childhood illnesses, injuries, and conditions in an outpatient setting.

  • Administer vaccinations in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

  • Counsel parents and caregivers on topics such as nutrition, development, and health promotion.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, medical assistants, and case managers, to develop individualized care plans.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Participate in the RHC’s quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

  • Provide on-call coverage as needed.

  • Stay current with pediatric medical research, best practices, and healthcare regulations.



Qualifications:



  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatrics.

  • Current, valid medical license to practice in Ohio.

  • Active BLS/ACLS certification.

  • Experience working in a pediatric outpatient or primary care setting preferred.

  • Knowledge of pediatric care principles, preventive care guidelines, and common childhood conditions.

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and families.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Commitment to serving underserved populations.



Preferred Skills & Experience:



  • Previous experience in a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) or similar healthcare setting.

  • Experience with telemedicine or virtual care services.
