The Outpatient Services Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring that outpatient programs operate efficiently, remain compliant, and consistently meet performance expectations. Working under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Services, this position supports day-to-day operational oversight, drives process improvement, and leads the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and skilled at supporting managers and teams within a structured leadership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and promote the mission, philosophy, values, and direction of McAlister Institute.
  • Support consistent, efficient, and compliant outpatient operations under the guidance of the Director of Outpatient Services
  • Collaborate with the Director of Outpatient Services and Program Managers on operational planning, workflow optimization, and problem solving. 
  • Lead the development, review, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures across      outpatient programs
  • Assist with implementing new initiatives, program changes, and operational directives.      
  • Serve as an operational liaison between outpatient programs and internal departments such as Quality, Compliance, HR, and Finance. 
  • Support audits, reviews, and quality improvement activities. 
  • Ability to support and guide management-level staff within defined leadership structure.      
  • Capable of executing direction from senior leadership while independently managing operational responsibilities. 
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to elevate concerns, recommendations, and solutions to the Director of Outpatient Services. 
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed. 

Requirements

  • Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor or Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) in good standing
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in substance use disorder treatment programs or within a behavioral health setting. 
  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, or outpatient service settings. 
  • Experience supporting operational processes, workflows, or SOP implementation. 
  • Familiarity with contract-driven service environments and productivity expectations. 
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. 
  • Proficiency with software and/or equipment (e.g., Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; job-related technologies).
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted California Driver's License,  with a good driving record, free of any major infractions.  
  • Primarily office-based with regular interaction with outpatient program leadership and staff.
  • Frequent travel between program sites is required. 
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screening, including references, education verification, a criminal background check with at least one year clear of probation or parole, a drug test, and a negative TB test.

Placement on the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
