Outpatient Therapist - Adult

  Purpose:

To provide individual therapy, assessments, with primarily adults with the possibility of providing evaluations and interventions for youth and/or adolescent individuals. Provide initial follow up with clients and staff to ensure customer satisfaction. 

Accountabilities:

· Will provide specialized therapeutic interventions as appropriate to training and experience.

· Will maintain caseload of clients/consumers in need of therapy.

· Works with regularly assigned Wyandot Mental Health Center staff to provide quality mental health services.

· Identifies strengths and needs of client/consumer and families and acts to involve them in planning for desired services.

· Works with other agencies to refer and secure adequate services.

· Will complete all paperwork in compliance with agency standards and policies.

Qualifications:

Education: Master's Degree and current licensure in Kansas as a Qualified Mental Health Professional, with preference given to clinical licensure.

Experience: Prior experience providing effective, efficient therapeutic services to adults facing severe persistent mental health illness. 

Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Skills & Abilities: 

• Knowledge of trends and issues, laws and regulations related to the      development and delivery of therapeutic services helpful.
• Ability to establish relationships with clients and treatment      teams. 
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. The ability to manage multiple      priorities under changing circumstances and timeframes.

· Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.

· Communicates directly and effectively in a cooperative manner with colleagues and representatives of other agencies.

· Familiar with mental health theory and practice.

· Organizational skills to assist in managing a caseload, keeping up with progress notes and treatment plans.

· Screening Solutions and Medicaid/Medicare Reimbursable inquires.

Location/Travel/Work Conditions and Considerations:

Based at a central office, light travel is required to other locations, businesses, and community sites to meet organizational needs. Workday regularly includes multiple and/or conflicting demands.
