Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership is a transformative learning and research community leading educational programs and scientific research on Hurricane Island in Penobscot Bay, Maine. The Outreach Manager is the primary staff member responsible for maintaining consistent branding and coordinating the external outreach of the organization through all avenues including various web-based, social media, print, and radio platforms. The Outreach Manager assists the fundraising efforts by providing donor and guest stewardship (both on and off-island), and assists outreach for new program development in collaboration with the Education and Research teams as needed. The position represents the organization with a donor-centered and relationship-building approach. The Outreach Manager is integrated into the day-to-day operations of the organization by being based in our Rockland office year round and by additionally being required to work scheduled days/week on Hurricane Island during the summer season. Rustic housing and meals on Hurricane Island are provided during required island meetings and overnight events during the island season ( April - October). Out of state travel, in addition to travel to and working from Hurricane Island, and occasional week-end hours are also expected.
A successful candidate must be well-organized, flexible, and able to function in a dynamic working environment. Additional responsibilities to what is described here may be required, as needed. The Outreach Manager reports to the Advancement Director.

Compensation : SALARY EXEMPT
This is a year round position with benefits. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes paid time off and medical, dental, life, and short term disability insurance.
