Job Description - Outreach Program Manager - North

Description

The Outreach Program Manager is responsible for developing, overseeing and implementing the Academic Edge outreach program within schools and community centers in our 30-county footprint. Outreach program is designed to reach girls and their families in underserved communities and provide opportunities for them to become active Girl Scouts troops. This position will cover the Northern half of the Council's 30-county footprint. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Onboard, train and supervise Outreach Program staff.
  • Perform weekly check-ins with staff and schools to monitor program implementation.
  • Work with Director of Program to strategically grow programs within school districts in our footprint. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all outreach programs to measure the impact of Academic Edge on participating girls. 
  • Develop, revise and adapt program curriculum to align with PA educational standards for each grade level, while meeting the needs and interests of the girls. 
  • Work collaboratively with schools and community partners to expand and develop programs in new school districts and communities. 
  • Work with Director of Program to develop and manage outreach program budget.
  • Personally lead outreach programs in the event of staff vacancies, emergencies, or as needed. 
  • Provide professional, quality customer service to members, volunteers, parents, staff, and other community contacts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Council-wide initiatives and/or cross functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience in programming, youth development or education required.
  • Experience developing curriculum, overseeing program function and staff preferred. 
  • Two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills, as well as public speaking and program facilitation skills required.
  • Work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Work with individuals of diverse background and ages in a professional manner.
  • Adapt well to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
  • Work a flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license - access to reliable transportation required.
  • Travel throughout the council, as needed.
  • Lift/carry 30 pounds.
  • Sitting, standing, or walking for a moderate period of time is required.
