Job Description

Compass Government Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced Outreach/Communication Specialist to provide services to Service Members (active duty, reserve components, and National Guard), Coast Guard, Veterans, and their families at The Psychological Health Center of Excellence (PHCoE). In preparation to bid on this contract, we are seeking qualified candidates willing to be included in our proposal as interested and skilled individuals.

The Outreach/Communications Specialist(s) lead all virtual and in-person site visits and other outreach events to include planning, tracking, coordination and on-site exhibit support and manning.  Will write conference/report summaries and make recommendations for improved strategies (written materials, talking points, etc.). 

Hours: Regular 1st 2nd and 3rd shifts

Location: 1335 East-West Hwy #900,

Silver Spring, MD 20910



Job Requirements 

  • Coordinate and conduct in-person outreach for inTransition, Real Warriors Campaign,  PHCoE initiatives and products as identified by the Government, and other external initiatives as indicated by the Government 
  • Coordinate and attend/present at conferences, Yellow Ribbon events, and other events/briefs to brief and disseminate information about inTransition/RWC/PHCoE
  • Maintain media relations to socialize and expand reach and impact of inTransition/RWC/PHCoE
  • Write conference/report summaries and make recommendations for improved strategies (e.g., new written materials, talking points, etc.) 
  • Works with PHCoE’s SMEs as indicated by the Government on the development of written outreach materials for dissemination.  
  • Oversee and provide outreach and dissemination support to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Veteran Support Group Organizations (VSOs).  This involves promoting awareness of inTransition/RWC/PHCoE as indicated by the Government to include: organizing presentations at conferences, creating and managing exhibits geared towards NGOs and VSOs; outreach through VTC meetings, etc. 
  • Work with the Program Managers to develop strategic plan for partnerships, collaborations in order socialize and enhance the impact of inTransition and PHCoE at-large.   
  • Report directly to the Program Manager, who will oversee the performance of all Outreach Specialists and will ensure all essential tasks are completed as directed by the Government.  The contractor shall provide the personnel skilled in public relations, public speaking, information translation, marketing, and strategic communications that are required in order to accomplish this mission. 
  • The Contractor shall assist in the coordination/liaison with other program offices, other programs, outside agencies, DHA offices, civilian activities and others in order to support inTransition, RWC, and the greater PHCoE mission.
  • Provide administrative support for all meetings and other initiatives involving inTransition.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Mental Health Professionals (social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, behavioral health counseling
  • 3 years’ experience delivering face-to-face health care and have demonstrated clinical experience in triage, care management, motivational interviewing, and crisis counseling.
  • Call Center personnel who provide support other than coaching should have healthcare experience (e.g., 1-2 years of experience with direct service delivery) and licensing credentials (e.g., RN) that are consistent with the outreach, patient education, and support missions of the inTransition program.
