Outside Machinist

Position Summary: 

Talent Source is seeking experienced Outside Machinists for shipyard assignments involving shipboard mechanical systems. This role is essential to maintaining propulsion and auxiliary systems critical to U.S. Navy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Install, align, and maintain pumps, valves, shafting, turbines, and reduction gears.

  
  


• 
  

  Use optical and laser alignment tools to ensure precision fitting.

  
  


• 
  

  Disassemble and rebuild mechanical assemblies and support hydrostatic testing.

  
  


• 
  

  Operate machine tools such as lathes and mills when necessary.

  
  


• 
  

  Read mechanical drawings and complete documentation and QA reports.

  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 
  

  4+ years of shipyard or Navy Machinist Mate (MM) experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Familiarity with alignment procedures and rotating machinery.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work in confined and elevated shipboard spaces.

  
  

Salary Range: $24.00–$34.00 per hour
