Job Description - Outside Sales Engineer - Mechanical Technologies

Role: HVAC Outside Sales Engineer


We’re looking for a motivated HVAC Outside Sales Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving sales of our HVAC products to a dedicated group of HVAC contractors. This is an excellent opportunity to join a knowledgeable and close-knit team within a fast-paced and evolving industry.


Responsibilities:



  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and accounts.

  • Provide timely equipment selections, pricing, and scheduling information.

  • Promote the features and benefits of Mechanical Technologies’ offerings.

  • Prepare equipment takeoffs and bid proposals tailored to project requirements.

  • Submit detailed documentation for customer approval.

  • Develop technical solutions and resolve customer issues throughout the sales process.

  • Create action plans to target new accounts and grow sales within existing ones.

  • Collaborate with manufacturer engineers and customer service to ensure excellent support.

  • Conduct sales tracking, including opportunities, forecasts, and results.

  • Maintain accurate records of project details, orders, costs, and schedules.

  • Travel regularly to customer sites and attend training seminars and sales meetings.

  • Uphold high ethical standards and integrity in all activities.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in the HVAC industry

  • Preferred sales experience in the tri-state area.

  • Solid technical knowledge of HVAC systems and HVAC product applications.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate within a team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with PC use. 


Estimated Compensation: This role is fully commission-based, with earning potential determined by sales performance and commission structure.
