Job Description - Outside Sales Executive

Our client is a leading manufacturer of litho and corrugated packaging, as well as a trusted packaging distributor. Known for their client- and employee-centric culture, they provide structured onboarding, hands-on training, and experienced leadership that fosters autonomy and strong support. With a diverse workforce and a reputation for retaining employees long-term, they do things differently from other packaging companies.

They are seeking an Outside Sales Executive to drive new business growth by selling custom and stock packaging solutions. This role requires a self-motivated professional with a proven ability to generate leads, establish relationships, and close deals with manufacturers and distributors. The position involves face-to-face prospecting, cold calling, and relationship-building to secure long-term clients.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and generate new client opportunities through self-sourced leads
  • Set appointments, build warm relationships, and capture and retain business
  • Sell custom and brown box packaging, as well as consumable packaging goods
  • Focus on selling stock packaging products in the first 2-3 years, progressing to managing a book of business within 4-5 years
  • Engage in in-person cold calling, door-to-door sales, and consultative selling to convert prospects into clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year degree required)
  • 5+ years of prospecting and outside sales experience
  • Experience selling technical, engineered, or customizable products
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Proven ability to generate leads and sell to manufacturers and distributors
  • Stable work history (no more than three jobs in the last 10 years)
