Job Summary-Over night position-Friday through Tuesday, 12:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
The Social Services Assistant plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families in navigating social services and accessing essential resources. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, provide guidance, and facilitate connections to appropriate services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of behavioral health, crisis management, and social work principles, with a passion for helping others improve their quality of life.
Duties
Assist clients in identifying their needs and developing personalized service plans.
Provide support in crisis situations, employing effective crisis management techniques.
Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Facilitate access to child welfare services, including mentoring and childcare resources.
Guide clients through the Section 8 housing process and other housing assistance programs.
Supervise and support clients in various settings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress within the case management system.
Offer guidance on Medicare options and assist with navigating healthcare services.
Provide addiction counseling support as needed, connecting clients with appropriate resources.
Qualifications
A background in behavioral health or social work is preferred.
Experience in crisis management or child welfare is highly desirable.
Strong mentoring skills with a focus on empowering clients to achieve their goals.
Knowledge of childcare practices and resources available to families.
Familiarity with Section 8 housing programs and related regulations is beneficial.
Ability to supervise clients effectively while maintaining a supportive environment.
Understanding of Medicare processes and healthcare navigation is an asset.
Experience in addiction counseling or related fields is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.

Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field preferred
● Experience working with at-risk youth or young adults strongly preferred
● Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skill
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
