Description
Overview:
The Juilliard School’s Electrics Shop is seeking individuals to work on various shows/projects throughout the year. 
 

Due to the high number of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond to all applicants. Please note that this is a part-time, as needed position. If hired, the shop supervisor will add your name to a list and will reach out when there is work available.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Safely participate in various calls including prep, hang, focus, notes, and strike.
  • Under the guidance of the Electrics Shop staff, act as run crew for performances and events throughout the School. 
  • Venue, shop, and equipment maintenance.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary for the efficient and professional execution of Juilliard programming.
     
Qualifications and Skills:
 
Required:
  • Previous experience as a lighting technician/electrician in a professional venue
  • Ability to work as a team player and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to follow instruction and work independently.
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Comfortable working on ladders and personnel lifts
  • Able to work at heights up to 60 feet
  • Requires frequent reading of light plots and paperwork, requires depth perception during light hang and focus.
  • Able to hear shouted commands given during work calls regarding loading weight and operating machinery or hardware.

 

This position is part of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, its Territories and Canada, AFL-CIO, CLC.

Salary Range:

Base positions start at $32.50 per hour.
