Overnight Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) - Substance Abuse

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Source is a Joint Commission accredited addiction treatment facility that offers multiple levels of care to help men and women overcome alcohol and drug addiction. Our mission is to provide a family environment where clients get connected to their mind body and spirit, support groups, 12-step programs, and society.

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) have a vital role in our client’s recovery. Our BHTs spend quality time with our clients. They observe, interact and encourage them throughout the day, during downtime, overnight, between sessions and during activities. A BHT observes clients when they are unguarded and are a vital part of assessing, reporting and supporting early recovery during treatment.

The Source FL, Inc., currently has openings for first, second and overnight shifts.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years working in the addiction treatment / behavioral health industry. Working knowledge of 12-step recovery programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Observe medication administration


• Responsible for monitoring all activity of person’s served throughout the facility


• Report concerns to clinical staff and housing manager


• Utilize appropriate behavior modification techniques to teach desirable behavior


• Conduct security and safety checks


• Conduct urinary analysis when necessary


• Document activities and behavior patterns


• Maintain appearance and cleanliness of the residence


• Guide and instruct clients in sober behaviors through 12-step recovery principles

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Computer literate


• Good communication skills


• Leadership skills


• Must be a team player


• Must be able to work with a diverse population of people served and staff

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up-to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

COMPENSATION:

Above industry standards for qualified applicants.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Operations

All candidates must pass a Level II Background screening.

Must have NO points on Driver’s License.
