Overnight Deli Production Cook

Walt Churchill’s Market is looking for a Full-Time Overnight Deli Production Cook for our Perrysburg, OH location.

Job Summary:

The Overnight Deli Production Cook focuses on the preparation and production of fresh deli items including sandwiches, salads, wraps, and sides to ensure our cases are stocked and ready for the day ahead. This role offers the opportunity to build food preparation skills in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment while working independently overnight. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Package, wrap, price, and merchandise Deli Department products
• Maintain product knowledge of deli case items: cold salads, dips, lunchmeats, cheeses, etc.
• Properly date items, check dates on all products to ensure freshness, and properly rotate stock
• Maintain general sanitation practices, food safety practices, and food storage practices according to store and health department standards. Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, cleaning surfaces, washing dishes, and more.
• Prepare most cold salads, dips, and grab-n-go items, including but not limited to: pasta salads, potato salads, coleslaw, tuna salad, grab-n-go pizzas, lettuce salads, sandwiches, wraps, and dips
• Produce some cafe/grab-n-go entrees and party trays
• Safely and effectively operate equipment such as slicers, steamers, fryers, rotisserie ovens, combi-ovens, smokers, and knives
• Put away stock in areas such as the cooler, freezer, and dry stock shelves while rotating product and maintaining organized stock areas
• Other duties may be assigned

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to communicate clearly
• Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers
• Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time

Education & Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Some previous deli or food service experience, highly preferred
• High school diploma or GED

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, and reaching
• Occasional instances of pushing, pulling, and squatting
• Must be able to frequently lift 10-30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
