We are seeking an experienced Diesel Fleet Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our DOT-regulated trucks and equipment. This position plays an important role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and compliant with all applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong diesel repair experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire service, and fluid checks.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software.
Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brake systems, suspensions, and other vehicle components.
Perform required DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet federal and state safety requirements.
Identify and correct safety or compliance issues before vehicles return to service.
Complete preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend the life of fleet vehicles and equipment.
Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and repair records.
Respond to roadside breakdowns and emergency repair needs when required.
Communicate with fleet managers and drivers to identify and resolve equipment concerns.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper repair procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Keep tools and shop equipment clean and in good working condition.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical or diesel mechanic certification preferred.
At least three years of experience working on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks.
Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA inspection and compliance requirements.
Experience using diagnostic tools and software.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday overnight shift.
Some Saturdays may be required.
Work hours may vary depending on fleet needs and emergency repairs.
On-call availability may be required for breakdowns or urgent repairs.
