Job Description - Overnight Unarmed Security Officer-10 Hour Shifts

Description

Precision Security Team is a veteran-owned and operated company proudly serving northern Colorado and surrounding areas. Since our establishment in 2018, we have experienced remarkable growth, earning the trust of local government agencies, schools, critical infrastructure sites, event organizers, and more. Based in the region stretching from Denver, CO, to Cheyenne, WY, we are committed to excellence in security services.

We take pride in hiring veterans, former law enforcement personnel, and first responders and strongly encourage individuals with such backgrounds to apply. However, we are equally committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Precision Security Team is an equal-opportunity employer, and all candidates are evaluated based on their qualifications, without discrimination or bias.

As an Unarmed Security Officer at Precision Security Team, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for the public at your assigned location. Your responsibilities will include addressing security concerns and handling requests as needed to ensure the safety and satisfaction of clients and the community.

Every Security Officer at Precision Security Team is entrusted with delivering an exceptional experience for our clients while safeguarding their interests. It is essential to uphold the company’s professional image at all times—whether interacting with clients, the public, or law enforcement.

As a member of our team, you are expected to embody and demonstrate Precision Security Team’s core values and code of conduct in all aspects of your work.

We are looking for two individuals to work at this location. One individual would work 4 days a week for a total of 40 hours, the other would work 3 for a total of 30 hours per week with the opportunity to pick up additional shift. Days would be determined upon hire, as all days are currently open. Please do not apply if this time does not work with your availability.

This position is heavily focused around social services. Candidates for this position must be comfortable around at-risk populations such as persons experiencing homelessness, drug and/or alcohol addictions, mental health crisis, trouble with the law, etc. Those with experience with or an interest in social work are encouraged to apply.

A CPR certification is required for this site. If you are not currently certified, we provide CPR training.

Candidates in this role must have a clean, neat, and well-groomed appearance.

Critical Roles of the Position:

Access Control: Manage and monitor the entry and exit points of the housing complex to ensure that only authorized residents, visitors, and staff have access. Verify identification, conduct screenings, and maintain visitor logs to ensure the safety and security of all individuals on the premises. Address unauthorized access attempts promptly while maintaining a welcoming demeanor.

Technology: Actively monitor closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to oversee the safety and activity within and around the housing complex. Identify and respond to suspicious activities, safety hazards, or breaches of security protocols. Maintain detailed logs of observations to support incident response and reporting. Answer and direct incoming calls using a multi-line phone system, ensuring inquiries are handled professionally and routed to the appropriate personnel or department. Provide guidance to clients, visitors, and staff using computer-based communication tools and resources.

Coordinating with First Responders: Serve as the point of contact for police, fire, and medical personnel during emergencies. Facilitate a smooth exchange of information, guide first responders to the scene, and assist in the evacuation or sheltering of residents as needed. Ensure all relevant information is shared with appropriate parties to expedite resolution.

Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, and security breaches in clear, accurate, and comprehensive reports. Maintain detailed records for future reference and provide critical information to management or law enforcement as required. Reports should reflect an ability to accurately describe events, times, and actions taken.

De-escalation: Employ effective de-escalation techniques to handle conflicts and disruptive behavior among residents or visitors. Remain calm and professional in challenging situations to diffuse tensions, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone involved. Strive to maintain a peaceful and supportive environment within the housing complex.

Precision Security Team or the client can assign other duties to you as necessary at any time.

Company Core Values:

  • Integrity: In all we do, at every level.
  • Commitment: To our team, our clients, our community.
  • Development: Professionally, personally, collectively; always improving.

Key Competencies:

  • positive attitude
  • time management
  • sound judgment
  • situational awareness
  • professional demeanor
  • de-escalation and conflict management skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • confidence working solitary and with a team
  • proficiency with smart phones and online scheduling software
  • physical ability to perform work related tasks
  • ability to use proper English and grammar when filling out reports and other required paperwork

Pay: This W2 position pays $20.25/hour. Employees who work 30 or more hours a week are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance. Colorado offers additional benefits to all employees, including the Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program, which provides paid leave, and a secure savings option through a Roth IRA program.

What to Expect in Our Hiring Process: Our hiring process begins with a careful review of applications to identify candidates who align with our company's needs and values. If your application stands out, you will be contacted for an initial phone screening. Successful candidates will then be invited to an in-person interview with the hiring manager and key members of our leadership team.

Important Notes About the Application and Interview Process:

  • Screener questions are a critical part of the evaluation process. Responses will be scored based on completeness, clarity, proper grammar, and written communication.

  • Do not write “see resume,” “N/A,” or “can be discussed during the interview.” Incomplete or vague responses will result in automatic disqualification.

  • We are looking for thoughtful, well-written answers that provide specific examples and demonstrate your qualifications and critical thinking.

Using the S.T.A.R. Technique: During the interview, we encourage you to use the S.T.A.R. method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to answer behavioral questions. This structured approach helps you communicate your experience clearly and effectively, making it easier for us to assess your skills and fit for the role.

Professional Appearance: First impressions matter. For in-person interviews, please arrive on time, well-groomed, and dressed in clean, professional attire. A polished appearance demonstrates professionalism and respect for the opportunity.

A Note About Communication: We will carefully review your application and contact you if we believe you are a strong match for the position. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we kindly ask that you do not call to inquire about your application status.

Please note: Failure to follow this instruction may result in disqualification, as it reflects an inability to follow directions—something we consider an important part of the role.

If you do not hear from us, please do not be discouraged or take it personally. We are committed to giving each application thoughtful consideration and selecting candidates who align best with the role’s specific needs.

Should you advance past the interview stage, a conditional job offer may be extended. Upon acceptance, we will initiate a background check and begin the online onboarding process.

To ensure full consideration, applications must be submitted by June 30, 2025.

PST adheres to a hands-off approach whenever possible, prioritizing verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques. The only instance where physical intervention is appropriate is if an individual poses an immediate physical threat to themselves, others, or you. Acceptable physical intervention techniques will be taught during our mandatory Phase I training.

Employment with Precision Security Team is "at-will," meaning that either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, as permitted by Colorado law. This at-will employment relationship cannot be altered or modified except by a written agreement signed by both the employee and an authorized representative of the company.

All knowledge about a site's staff, customers, products, events, procedures, facilities, etc. must remain confidential. Any improper public or personal disclosure will result in discipline up to and including termination.

Precision Security Team is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination or harassment of any kind as outlined by federal, state, or local laws.

If you require accommodations to participate in the application or interview process, please contact Human Resources.
