Job Description - PA Team Lead






Overview






The Patient Accounting Team Lead is responsible to train assigned duties, assist manager in the supervision of the staff, assist with time and attendance of department ,ensure proper staff coverage is always maintained, ensures claims are released to the payer in a timely manner, ensures accounts are resolved properly and timely, works closely with various departments to resolve any issues that may arise within the department., helps maintain claims system by coordinating billing edits and bridge routines, helps maintain various host systems billing and collection dictionaries/profiles, maintains education and up-keep of the parallel database, works with manager on payer payment discrepancies and issues with account resolutions.









Qualifications






Education: High school diploma or GED required

Experience: Minimum of five years prior experience working with medical insurance or billing with 1-2 years supervisory experience. Advance education may be substituted for experience. GPMS experience strongly preferred. 

Additional Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology and broad understanding of medical insurance industry required. Ability to investigate and identify problems with claims required. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required. Excellent organizational and time management skills required. Ability to work independently required. Proficiency in various software applications including Word, Excel and medical billing software required. General understanding of work flow in a medical billing environment preferred.
