The Packaging Engineer is responsible for developing and executing projects and tasks related to design, testing, reliability, integrity, quality, and compliance of product packaging and operating systems. The position reports into the Packaging Engineering (PE) Team, is based in the Milwaukee, WI facility, and supports global ClientSigma operations in the Life Science Division.
Responsibilities:
" Works safely and adheres to rules and standard operating procedures of the facility and PE team.
" Resource for packaging performance, testing, compliance, and data collection for our DOT M4109 test lab.
" Resource for determining and maintaining routes to compliance for UN 4G and 4GV design types.
" Resource for packaging design improvements and innovation projects.
" Resource for packaging line operation, including primary, secondary, and outer packaging.
" Resource for global harmonization of packaging materials and methods.
" Resource for special projects related to packaging materials and components.
" Resource for data analysis and problem solving related to leaker reduction projects.
" Ensures service excellence to internal and external customers.
Minimum qualifications:
" Bachelor s Degree in packaging engineering or science, or packaging education certified program from an accredited packaging engineering school with 2 years of work experience.
" ERP, data management, and information technology experience.
" Global packaging knowledge, including rigid and flexible substrates.
" Exceptional communication skills.
" Advanced computer software skills and data mining skills.
" Direct internal stakeholder and external customer experience.
" Business acumen in a diverse Life Science chemical and biological manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
" SAP working experience in packaging materials of construction and bill of materials.
" Experience with freight based palletized and single parcel shipments in e-commerce distribution.
" Experience in working in manufacturing and distribution settings.
" 5 years of packaging work experience.
" 2 years of dangerous goods packaging experience.
" Knowledge of lean operating techniques, EHS systems, and quality management programs.
" Knowledge of DOT, IATA, and IMDG transportation regulations.
