Packaging Supervisor 

· Ensure that all work being performed in your area is done in a safe manner. 

· Ensure that ALL equipment is verified and working properly each day.

· Plan Ahead – have the appropriate supplies ready for each item scheduled for the day. Ensure that plans have been clearly communicated to operators.

· Perform daily observations of product quality (bag flaps, boxes, pallet stacks, mb’s) to ensure we are providing the highest quality packaging appearance possible.

· Ensure that all processes are followed. This is best done by being involved in the process, not by observing from a distance.

· Be actively involved in the work process. Assist operators when assistance is needed. Lead by example

· TOUR READY – be involved in keeping your work area clean.

· Scales calibrated daily.

· Label verification process is properly conducted.

· Variety change process is conducted properly

· Treatment and color change process is conducted properly

· Crop change process is conducted properly

· Bag check weigh process is conducted properly

· Insure representative sample is collected properly.

· Insure final inventory count if reconciled and accurate

· Finished lot samples and documentation is submitted to QA

· Preventative maintenance is conducted according to schedule

· Supply consumption is accurately recorded. 

· Customer packaging and labeling requirements are properly met. (Stack layers, string color, tag type, tag placement, stretch wrap, top and bottom sheet, pallet ID, bar codes, paper color, box seals, lid clips, pallets, paper bags. box lids, overall package appearance).

Insure proper training is conducted with all employees. 

• Agricultural background and experience are preferred but not required
• Computer skills - spreadsheets, email, etc.
• Excellent communications skills with positive attitude
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Cooperative and  willing to assist others
• Successfully pass the forklift training and receive an operators certificate
• Monitors and maximizes daily bag output
• Assist with implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System
• Maintaining a neat, clean, and organized work area
