Job Description - Pain Physician Bronx NY

Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician / Physiatrist OR Anesthesiologist Bronx NY
Full time or Part time
Interventional or noninterventional
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician (PM&R)/ Physiatrist or Anesthesiologist to join our practices in North and South Bronx, NY. The incoming physician will be examining patients and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. We will consider an interventional or noninterventional physician. We are looking for someone who can treat the patient from start to finish, handling every aspect of patient care with recommendations and treating patients from first visit/examination until the patients finish treatment. This position will require travel between our offices in North and South Bronx and can be either full time or part time.

Duties:

Diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.
Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients including Physical therapy.
Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary.
Providing adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients.
Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes.
Performs initial evaluation on each patient to determine patient’s need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process.
Initiate’s prescriptions to be followed by the appropriate therapy units, and modifies that prescription as indicated by the patient’s response to therapy and his/her medical condition.
Prescribes appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices as indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices.
Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients’ progress.
Interacts with community-based referral sources, i.e., physicians, social workers, rehabilitation nurses, insurance companies, DVR counselors, etc., to facilitate patient care and patient referrals
Perform or Refer for Interventional pain procedures (if trained and medically indicated)

Requirements:

MD/DO licensed in NY
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible with American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR), BCBE Physiatrist, or BCBE Anesthesiologist
Board certification or board eligibility in Pain Medicine (American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine, or similar).
Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management preferred but not required
Interventional pain management experience, specializing in pain/spine procedures (if an interventionalist)

Schedule:

Full time or Part time
Will require travel between Bushwick (Brooklyn) and Rego Park (Queens)

Salary:

$300k-$350k per year plus productivity bonus (Depending on experience and training/ability to perform procedures)
