We are seeking a skilled Paint & Body Technician with experience in heavy equipment repair and refinishing. This position will primarily be based on our asset yard, with occasional travel to nearby job sites as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of paint and bodywork for construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, trenchers, forklifts, and other heavy machinery.
You must hold a valid driver’s license and have proven experience with paint, body, and structural repair for heavy equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Straighten, repair, or fabricate bent or broken body components
Build up dents or cracks in machine components with fiberglass/body fillers
Repair plastic, fiberglass, and metal components
Remove and replace mechanical components required in conjunction with bodywork
Check alignment, straighten, and align frame members and supports
Replace broken glass
Mix and apply paints using spray equipment
Prepare surfaces, including sanding and blasting, as needed
Mask and paint machinery to manufacturer or company standards
Polish and buff finished coats
Properly handle hazardous materials and wastes in compliance with safety guidelines
Keep accurate records of material and equipment usage
Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
2 to 5 years of experience with heavy equipment paint and body repair
Welding experience a plus
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Job Conditions
Work is primarily performed outdoors in a yard environment
Exposure to weather elements (heat, cold, rain, dust) should be expected
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required for safety
Work schedule may include occasional overtime and travel to nearby job sites
