Painter- Facilities- Full Time

About the Role

The Painter is responsible for the preparation necessary to assume proper application of paints, varnishes, sealers, and wallpaper.

Position Responsibilities

• Determine the quantity of materials needed for the job by taking surface measurements or by looking at job specifications or drawings
• Responsible for erecting and using scaffolding, cradles, ladders and drop sheets
• Knowledgeable of surface preparation techniques; including but not limited to, paint/wallpaper removal, use of steam strippers, woodwork repair, filling/sealing holes, cracks and joints
• Able to select and prepare paints to match colors by the addition of tints
• Knowledgeable of different methods of applying paints, stains, varnish and other finishes, including decorative finishes, and proper wallpapering techniques.
• Removes debris caused by work completed
• Maintains proper care and storage of tools and equipment
• Ensures that all work is completed and of superior craftsmanship
• Works closely with Lead to coordinate an efficient and safe work environment
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Essential Functions

• High degrees of mobility to enable person to respond to any type of emergency or service call
• Ability to effectively communicate by way of 2-way radio or pager system
• Physical ability and skill to use normal tools and equipment associated with the trade
• Exposure to casino related environmental factors, including but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and stress related to servicing customers in a fast paced environment
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts/hours
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds

• Five (5) years’ experience as Commercial/Industrial Painter required
• Complete knowledge of wallpaper hanging, paints, varnishes, lacquers, and their application and maintenance
• Knowledge of relevant OSHA requirements
• Ability to effectively communicate in English
• Blueprint reading skills required
