PAINTING SPECIALIST (Apprentice or Experienced Positions Available) Silver Maple Woodworks seeks a skilled, detail-oriented Painting Specialist to join our team. The Role
This position is essential to the artistic vision and operational success of the Woodworks. As our Painting Specialist, you will be responsible for executing sophisticated paint applications on our diverse range of custom woodwork projects. Your expertise will encompass surface preparation, color matching, specialty finishes, and precision application techniques. This role demands exceptional attention to detail and quality control standards. You will collaborate closely with our design and production teams to ensure every piece meets Silver Maple's reputation for excellence and innovation.

Experience & Skills Required
For Experienced Candidates:
Minimum of 2 years of woodworking experience and 3 years of finish application experience
Proficiency in mixing and spraying diverse pre- and post-catalyzed waterborne and solvent-based finishes
For Career Starters:
Strong desire to build a career in woodworking and finishing
Willingness to participate in our comprehensive training program
Demonstrated work ethic and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation Mastery: Execute comprehensive surface preparation, including sanding, priming, filling, and conditioning of various wood species and substrates
Advanced Paint Application: Apply primers, paints, glazes, and specialty coatings using brush, roller, and spray techniques with precision and consistency
Spray System Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in operating, calibrating, and maintaining professional spray equipment, including HVLP, airless, and conventional systems
Color Matching & Custom Mixing: Mix and match paints to achieve exact color specifications, create custom tints, and develop unique finish effects per design requirements
Specialty Techniques: Execute advanced finishing methods including antiquing, distressing, faux finishes, and decorative painting applications
Quality Assurance: Inspect work at all stages, identify and correct imperfections, and ensure consistent finish quality across all project components
Environmental Management: Monitor and adjust for temperature, humidity, and ventilation conditions to optimize paint performance and cure times
Documentation & Tracking: Maintain detailed records of paint formulations, application procedures, and material usage for quality control and future reference
Multi-Coat Processes: Manage complex finishing schedules including proper cure times, sanding between coats, and progressive build-up of finish systems
Workspace Management: Maintain an organized, clean, and safe painting environment while adhering to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
Work Environment
Full-time position in a cutting-edge woodworking facility designed for precision craftsmanship
Climate-controlled paint booth with advanced ventilation and lighting systems
