Pallet Shop Laborer - 2nd Shift 1pm to 9:30 pm

The Pallet Shop Laborer is responsible for maintaining stock levels of pallets and processing deliveries. This position ensures that the equipment and processing areas are maintained in safe, clean and orderly conditions. 

Receive Assignment From:

Raw Materials Manager & Pallet Shop Lead

·         Receives pallet deliveries and stores pallets in specified locations.

·         Spot checks incoming pallets for compliance to auto-cad drawings.

·         Modifies stock pallets for customer production orders.

·         Maintains inventories on both pallets and lumber.

·         Assembles all coils for coil stock.

·         Properly and safely sets up equipment for necessary woodworking.

·         Organizes and maintains cleanliness of the pallet shop and outside pallet storage.

·         Assists in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work orders.

·         Monitors wood dumpster and surrounding area.

·         Provides feedback to supervisors regarding current tool conditions and hardware necessities.

.         Assists with security gate coverage in situations of short staffing

.         Unload and verifies trucks for after-hour deliveries

.         Assists raw materials department with processing scrap, waste, and/or regrind.

·         Assists warehouse and production for retrieval and set-up where needed.

·         Completes job responsibilities in a manner that does not put him/herself or other individuals in an unsafe situation and wears all PPE (personal protective equipment)            when required.

·         Participates, supports, and complies with all Health, Safety, Quality and Lean initiatives and requirements.

·         Responsible to perform other duties and activities as directed.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  

• Ability to operate various forklifts and other warehouse equipment


• Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 100 lbs.


• Ability to use power tools


• Must be able to read and record proper measurements


• Possesses basic math abilities


• Must be detailed oriented


• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills


• Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills
