Donato Brown Pool & Moehlmann, PLLC provides high-quality, professional legal services primarily to professional and business clients in an ethical, prompt, and cost-effective manner.

Summary: Provide support to attorneys and associate attorneys. Analyze legal issues, research relevant laws and regulations, and offer guidance to clients on the best course of action. 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  1. Legal Research: Conducting legal research on various topics, such as statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents, to gather information and support attorneys in their cases and legal proceedings. *
  2.  Document Preparation: Assisting in the preparation and drafting of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal instruments. This may involve organizing and reviewing documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements. *
  3.  Case Management: Assisting attorneys in managing their caseloads by organizing and maintaining case files, including relevant documents, correspondence, and evidence. This may involve creating and updating case calendars, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with clients, courts, and other parties involved.
  4.  Client Communication: Interacting with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and schedule appointments or meetings. Paralegals may also assist in interviewing clients and witnesses to gather facts relevant to the case. *
  5.  Trial Support: Assisting attorneys in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witnesses, and other trial materials. During trials, paralegals may attend court proceedings, take notes, and assist in courtroom logistics.
  6.  Administrative Tasks: Performing various administrative tasks, such as maintaining and organizing legal libraries, managing billing and invoicing, preparing expense reports, and coordinating appointments and travel arrangements for attorneys.
  7.  Legal Database Management: Utilizing legal software and databases to manage and retrieve documents, research materials, and other case-related information. Paralegals may be responsible for organizing and indexing legal databases for efficient retrieval of information.
  8.  Legal Ethics and Confidentiality: Adhering to legal ethics and maintaining strict confidentiality regarding client information, case details, and privileged communications. *
  9.  Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborating with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal professionals within the law firm or legal department to support efficient case management and workflow.
  10.  Continuing Education: Staying updated on legal developments, changes in regulations, and advancements in paralegal practices through continuing education programs and professional development opportunities.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and previous experience with word processing software.

Education:

Paralegal Certificate, Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent amount of direct working experience

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
