Job Description - Paralegal - Commercial Real Estate
The West Palm Beach office has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join our vibrant Real Estate department.
This candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Real Estate practice group. This position requires a proactive attitude to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, keen attention to detail, exceptional organization skills and the ability to excel in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Assist attorneys in all aspects of real estate transactions from contract review/preparation and loan commitments to closing.
Assist with due diligence, including order/review of title commitments, surveys, title objection letters, municipal lien searches, zoning letters, and UCC, judgment, federal lien searches.
Maintain and update lease abstract/reports, including preparation and/or review of tenant estoppels and SNDAs
Preparation of conveyance documents, closing statements, affidavits, assignments, and customary closing documents for real estate closings.
Handling of all disbursements/funding
Handle clearing all title requirements/title defects and survey requirements prior to closing
Assist in the formation of new entities, knowledge and understanding of operating agreements, qualification documents
Coordinating signing of closing documents and signature pages
Understanding of loan commitments and lender credit memos
Interface directly with client and third parties throughout the transaction
Other various related tasks and assignments, as required or requested by the real estate group.
Skills/Qualifications
3-5 years’ experience as a real estate closer/paralegal required
Title Insurance License a plus
Associate and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of internal staff, attorneys, and external clients of the firm.
Demonstrate attention to detail, reliability, prioritize effectively and ability to follow through on tasks
Ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously
Understanding of organizational documents
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook required
Proficiency in Qualia a plus
Salary range depending on experience: $28-$35/hour
