Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman is seeking a Paralegal to join the Export/Import Law Department\u2019s geographically dispersed team, working from the company\u2019s Linthicum location. The paralegal will report to the Director and Assistant General Counsel - Export/Import and will work as a critical part of a team assisting with matters pertaining to international trade laws and regulations. \n\nWe\u2019re looking for a paralegal who can blend experience from disciplines like operations, regulatory compliance, tools management, risk management, process management, data management, or complementary areas to handle responsibilities that may include, among other things: \n\n * Supporting Export/Import compliance matters, including setting up matters in the management software tool and reporting metrics for management.\n\n * Performing administrative duties to facilitate department operations, including managing correspondence and calendars, scheduling, travel arrangements, and filing expense reports.\n\n * Preparing budget and other financial reports as requested.\n\n * Assisting legal counsel with engagement of outside counsel, continuing education seminars and publication/subscription resources. Reviewing vendor agreements and confirming invoices.\n\n * Leveraging litigation, investigations or other experience to manage export and import legal matters, summarizing background information, organizing and indexing documents and identifying relevant information for analysis by legal counsel.\n\n * Assisting with contract requirements for export, import and sanctions considerations.\n\n * Participating in cross functional working groups, supporting assessments, conferences, records management, retention schedules, data classification, archiving, data mapping exercises, collaboration tools and processes.\n\n * Using corporate collaboration tools to coordinate across functional teams, including working with Law Department and Global Trade Management, Ethics, Security and IT personnel, for export, import and sanctions compliance.\n\n * Assisting legal counsel with developing training materials and providing updates to on-going legal and regulatory developments in relevant areas\n\n * Collaborating with other company paralegals, U.S. and foreign legal counsel, and corporate stakeholders on operational and strategic matters\n\n\n\n\nTo succeed in the role, a candidate must:\n\n * Proactively identify and solve problems independently\n\n * Manage competing priorities to complete work reliably in a fast-paced environment\n\n * Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills\n\n * Work comfortably with technology\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nThis requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4. \n\nBasic Qualifications for a Level 3: \n\n * High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years\u2019 experience as a paralegal or in a legal related position in a law firm or corporate environment. College degree preferred.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for a Level 4: \n\n * High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years\u2019 experience as a paralegal or in a legal related position in a law firm or corporate environment. College degree preferred.\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Basic Qualifications for both levels:\n\n * Expertise in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), SharePoint, and document review platforms\n\n * Experience using complex electronic databases, such as budget analysis and billing systems (e.g., Legal Tracker or equivalent)\n\n * Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to express complex ideas clearly to various audiences across a large organization and with government agencies\n\n * Ability to execute tasks and projects independently\n\n * Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective, collaborative relationships with others\n\n * The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience or knowledge in one of the following areas: International Trade Compliance, corporate compliance (e.g., investigations, risk management) or internal audit\n\n * Familiarity with legal management or data management software\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree\n\n * Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CSSP) are a plus\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $69,300.00 - $115,500.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $82,300.00 - $137,100.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
