Paralegal - Real Estate

Description

This is an opening for a paralegal with at least five year’s experience working in our main office in Binghamton, NY. This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week) with benefits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Draft residential purchase and sale agreements, correspondence, memoranda, open files and prepare file folders.
• Communicate directly with clients, other attorneys, realtors and title companies.
• Schedule closings.
• Proof read documents and ensure accuracy for proper recording with Count Clerk.
• Prepare residential closing packages including closing statements, drafting of all required documents and post-closing review.
• Draft and edit real estate mortgage closing documents and closing adjustments for residential mortgage matters.
• Coordinate bank closing packages including scheduling, closing disclosures, closing adjustments and post-closing review.
• Coordinate post-closing recording of documents, disbursement of funds, calendaring any post-closing escrows, preparation of final title insurance.
• Maintain and track schedules, contingencies, deadlines and calendars.
• Maintain electronic and physical legal files including general organization, index closing documents and post-closing file management.
• Research and respond to inquiries and requests for information.
• Provide other support as needed.
