Paralegal - Rewarding Work

Job Description:

• The US Business Counsel and Franchising Team is a dynamic, experienced team of lawyers and other legal professionals who support the franchising of restaurants across the U.S. and has an immediate opening for a paralegal to join our friendly and collaborative team.

• Under supervision of our attorneys, assist in preparation and revision of variety of commercial contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, and nondisclosure agreements

• Support attorneys in restaurant acquisition transactions, including due diligence, UCC searches, closing documents, and post-closing matters

• Create and monitor transaction timelines and checklists

• Undertake assignments relating to franchise matters, including research, review, and analysis of contracts and other issues

• Provide general support in connection with legal and substantive matters to attorneys and assist with special projects.

• Effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders

• Establish proactive relationships with business clients as well as other members of the legal organization

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field required (or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge)

• Bachelor's Degree in Paralegal Studies and Paralegal Certificate preferred

• 1+ years of relevant experience

• Experience within a global and/or franchised organization, and/or prior experience with transactional legal work, is preferred

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

• Familiarity with database functionality and operation

• Excellent analytical, organizational, drafting and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines in a fast- paced, demanding environment

• Detail orientated

• Proactive in determining, prioritizing and resolving issues

• Comfortable escalating issues internally and seeking support when new or complex issues arise

• Participate effectively and constructively as a member of a team

• Creative and resourceful; energized by new challenges and opportunities

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
