Paramount Events - Full Service Catering Cook

 Paramount Events is looking for a skilled and dependable Full Service Catering Cook to join our culinary team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in producing high-quality food for a variety of catered events. We’re looking for a team player with strong culinary fundamentals, attention to detail, and the flexibility to support an ever-changing event schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Produce a variety of savory items for the catering department, with an emphasis on accuracy and consistency 
• Note when product is needed, and sharing with PE Sous Chefs and/or PE Chef de Cuisines
• Note of any changes, edits and/or discrepancies between production lists and event paperwork
• Uphold sanitation and food safety standards, maintaining clean and tidy work areas
• Ensure all food safety measures are followed: proper cooling and storage of prepared foods, proper handling of all “Ready to Eat” foods, proper thawing, and heating methods.
• Ensure all opening/closing duties are being met correctly and consistently
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is being handled properly when in use and stored properly when not in use, note when equipment/items are not functioning

• Food Handlers and Allergens certifications
• 2+ years of related experience, preferably in a high-volume setting
• Precise knife skills and basic culinary knowledge, ability to braise, saute, and grill items to specifications
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Ability to read and follow recipes
• Effectively prioritize tasks while demonstrating good time management
• Work well both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift at least 40 pounds
• Flexible schedule, weekends required
