The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment in Lower Dauphin School District Life Skills Support classroom is $22.16 per hour and *Paid Time Off (PTO).
The Special Education Paraprofessional will work on student days following the academic calendar year
Special Education Paraprofessionals will support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Instructional, Learning, and Life Skills
CURRENT NEED:
South Hanover Elementary - Life Skills Classroom Paraprofessional:
A Life Skills Support Paraprofessional provides direct instructional, behavioral, and personal care support to students with special needs, helping them build daily living, social, and academic skills.
Schedule on a full school day is 8:30am - 3:45pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide assistance to students with special needs who have IEPs or 504 plans.
Reinforcing learning concepts and skills.
Working with students individually or in small groups.
Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress.
Managing students behavior and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Supervising students during lunch, arrivals/dismissals, and other non-instructional areas.
Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and completion of Paraprofessional competency training OR
Two-years of post secondary education (48 college credits), Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree
Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred
CREDENTIALING :

(Clearances current within 12 months)
PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
PA Department of Education FBI
TB Screening - current within 3 months
Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
*Paid Time Off (PTO)
