Job Description - Park Maintenance Worker I

Position InformationThe Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for a Park Maintenance Worker I position. The Park Maintenance Worker I reports directly to the Park Maintenance Supervisor, and is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing and renovating irrigation systems, playgrounds, tables, benches and barbeque units, and performing other maintenance duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will be able to work individually and as a member of a team providing a wide range of services. QualificationsEducation and Experience Guidelines - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:Education/Training:Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.Experience:Six months of work experience in the maintenance and repair of parks, landscaped areas, street medians and janitorial work.License or Certificate:Possession of California Drivers License must be maintained as a continued condition of employment.Possession of a Certified Pool & Spa Operator Certification issued by the National Swimming Pool Foundation or Aquatic Facility Operator Certification issued by the National Recreation and Park Association, or equivalent, within the probationary period.Application ProcessApplicants must submit the following:City of Brentwood Employment ApplicationPostmarks, faxes and incomplete applications will not be accepted. All applicants that pass the examination process will be placed on the eligible list which is good for at least 6 months and may be extended up to an additional 18 months.
