The Department of Agriculture, Conservation, & Forestry, Bureau of Parks and Lands, has a current vacancy for a 30-week Seasonal Park Manager II at Fort McClary/Vaughan Woods State Parks.
LOCATION INFORMATION: Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park is a 165-acre forested tract along the scenic Salmon Falls River. The park includes picnic facilities and hiking trails through old growth stands of pine and hemlock. Hiking is available on several trails that connect to make up one large loop, a system of 3+ miles.
Fort McClary State Historic Site is a small day use facility with a picnic area, playground and the remains of Fort McClary. Fort McClary stands today as one of the state's most important historic forts that preserves evidence of military history and changes in military architecture and technology.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Park Manager II is responsible for managing the overall operations and maintenance of Fort McClary State Historic Site and Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park in Kittery Point and Berwick, Maine.

This position supervises and trains three Assistant Park Rangers. The Friends of Fort McClary (FOFM) is an active special interest group that supports the efforts of the historic site. The manager coordinates activities with the FOFM. Work is performed under the general supervision of the regional manager, but the person in this position works independently much of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An Associates Degree Recreation Management or a related field and a minimum of one year of experience in park operations or a similar related activity, to include supervisory or managerial experience. Directly related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. For the purposes of this classification, a year is defined as being the equivalent of a 25-week or more season.
