About the Position


If you love the idea of working outside at a Farmers Market, this might be the perfect part-time job for you! The Vancouver Farmers Market is hiring a seasonal Parking Attendant to welcome shoppers and manage our donation-based parking lots during the market season. This role takes place at the Downtown Vancouver Farmers Market on Saturdays.



Parking Attendants are responsible for greeting and directing shoppers, ensuring a smooth parking experience, and accurately tracking and handling parking donations. If you're great with people, customer service-oriented, and ready to be a welcoming face at the market, we'd love to have you on our team!



Status: Part-time, Seasonal, Non-Exempt, 7 hours per week


Compensation: $17.13 per hour 


Benefits:



  • Sick time accrued per WA State paid sick leave policy

  • Annual $50 clothing reimbursement


Schedule: 



  • Saturdays, 8:00am - 3:00 pm

  • August - October


Reports to: Market Managers



Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Greet customers and direct parking lot traffic

  • Accept and handle cash donations and accurately count vehicles who enter the parking lots

  • Provide excellent and friendly customer service to market shoppers, answer questions, and give information about the market and downtown area

  • Collaborate and communicate with market managers throughout the market day


Position Requirements:



  • Must be 16+ years of age

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Accurate and honest cash handling and management

  • Ability to work independently and with diverse groups of people

  • Be a reliable communicator via phone, email, etc.

  • Must have access to reliable transportation

  • Ability to pass background check


Physical Demands:



  • Working outside in all types of weather

  • Long periods of standing and walking

  • Ability to work weekends



Additional Desired Skills & Experience 



  • Preference will be given to candidates who are Bilingual in English and Spanish. 

  • Preference will be given to candidates living in Clark County, Washington.
