Job Title: Part-Time Attorney / Legal Counsel

About the Position: Adams & Martin is seeking a dedicated and diligent Part-Time Attorney / Legal Counsel to provide legal support for a respected nonprofit organization. This remote role requires approximately 10 hours of commitment each week and offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the USA. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for nonprofit work and the ability to handle a variety of legal tasks with precision and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and support on various low-risk, non-complex matters related to the nonprofit's operations.
• Draft, review, and advise on legal documents such as cease and desist letters, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and other contractual documents.
• Assist with labor and employment issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Handle some intellectual property (IP) related tasks, protecting the organization's interests.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure legal best practices are followed.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in any State Bar in good standing is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law, preferably serving as in-house counsel to a nonprofit organization.
• Proficient in handling general corporate governance, compliance issues, and risk management.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
