THIS IS A PART-TIME ROLE, ESTIMATED AT UP TO 20-25 HOURS A MONTH THROUGH AT LEAST THE END OF THE YEAR (PENDING PERFORMANCE) WITH A CHANCE FOR EXTENSION.
THE ROLE CAN BE DONE REMOTELY, HOWEVER, WE NEED SOMEONE THAT CAN BE REASONABLY RESPONSIVE DURING PDT / PST TIME ZONE (WHERE THE CLIENT IS LOCATED).
YOU WOULD BE REQUIRED TO DO A RELEASE ONCE A MONTH THAT'S TYPICALLY DONE ON A WEEK DAY FROM 3 PM TO 6 PM PDT.
THIS WILL BE THE ONLY DEVOPS ENGINEER ROLE ON THE TEAM, SO CANDIDATES MUST BE SENIOR / CAPABLE OF WORKING WITHOUT GUIDANCE.
KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a part-time Sr. DevOps Engineer: GCP, GKE, Helm, Terraform, GitLab required
We are seeking a DevOps engineer who can handle deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations to meet our customers' needs.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in devops engineering and communicate effectively with developers to ensure that software development follows established processes and functions as intended.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deployment Management: Execute seamless deployment processes for product updates, ensuring minimal disruption to services and maintaining high availability.
- Issue Identification and Resolution: Proactively identify and address production issues, troubleshoot system failures, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Integration Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement integrations that enhance product functionality and align with customer requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in deployment processes, infrastructure automation, and monitoring systems to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with software developers to ensure alignment with established processes, facilitate timely resolution of issues, and promote effective communication across teams.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or comparable is a plus
- Relevant certifications are a plus
- Minimum 5-10 years of DevOps Engineering that includes:
- Cloud Platform Proficiency: Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with hands-on experience in deploying and managing infrastructure using Terraform, GKE, Helm, and GitLab.
- Kubernetes Expertise: Extensive experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and familiarity with containerization technologies.
- Cloud Services: In-depth knowledge of GCP services such as Cloud Storage, Networking, and related technologies.
- Release Management: we do a release once a month on a week day from 3 pm to 6 pm PDT / PST (you would need to be available for)
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, developers, and stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving technology landscapes and business requirements.
- Communication: Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $60-80/hr W2. We are willing to consider candidates over that rate though.
