Job Description - Partner - Litigation & Employment




Our client, a full-service law firm located in Annapolis, Maryland providing tailored legal services to businesses and individuals across Maryland, focusing on practical strategies.  As part of their continued strategic growth, we are seeking an experienced Employment Law partner to join and help lead their Employment Practice Group. This is an opportunity for a seasoned employment attorney to play a meaningful leadership role, grow and manage a sophisticated employment practice, and collaborate closely with attorneys across litigation, commercial, and estates practices. The ideal candidate brings deep subject-matter expertise, strong client-management skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset. This is a full-time on-site role based in Annapolis, MD.





Responsibilities:




  • Represent clients in litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Provide expert legal counsel on complex employment law issues, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, and employee benefits.

  • Prepare, review, and present legal documents, ensuring the best interests of our clients.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across different practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions. Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and tailor legal strategies accordingly.

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations.

  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.

  • Prepare and organize exhibits, affidavits, and other supporting documents for court filings.

  • Review and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents, safeguarding the legal interests of our clients.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical case files.

  • Prepare and file court documents, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

  • Represent clients at trials, hearings, and depositions.

  • Apply analytical skills to identify and resolve issues and enhance final work product.

  • Complete special projects, and other related duties as assigned.








Requirements

Qualifications:



  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Active membership and in good standing with the MD State Bar.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on litigation.

  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Possess working knowledge of EEOC and NLRB rules and regulations.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

  • The ideal candidate will be driven, self-motivated with the ability to work and lead a team.
