Job Description - Partnership Strategist (Sales)

The Partnership Strategist is the initiator of momentum. Sitting at the frontlines of our growth engine, this role is focused on identifying opportunities and nurturing early-stage relationships that turn into long-term, high-value partnerships.



You’ll research, identify, and connect with ideal prospects, attend events, and implement creative lead-generation strategies that position Worthwhile as a trusted partner—not just a vendor. Your mission is to warm the room, open the door, and get the right people to the table—so our Strategic Partnerships Director can focus on closing.



This isn’t about hard-selling. It’s about high-trust connection, curiosity, and value-first engagement.



What You’ll Do


Partnership & Relationship Building

  • Own top-of-funnel activity: identify and engage new leads aligned with Worthwhile’s Ideal Client Profile (ICP)


  • Research companies, decision-makers, and vertical pain points to craft meaningful outreach


  • Leverage LinkedIn, email, warm intros, and event-based networking to generate new opportunities


  • Develop creative, localized strategies for identifying and connecting with prospects across events, digital, and referral channels


Prospecting & Qualification

  • Initiate and conduct early prospect conversations using the BANT framework (Budget, Authority, Need, Timing)


  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads and document key insights in Salesforce


  • Set high-quality Discovery Calls for the Strategic Partnerships Director with a strong handoff process


Event Strategy & Execution

  • Identify, plan, and attend local industry events and meetups in the Greenville area


  • Own lead generation at events: prep outreach strategies beforehand, engage meaningfully during, and follow up after


  • Work with marketing to ensure event presence aligns with brand strategy and pipeline goals


Sales Operations & Team Enablement

  • Track prospect touchpoints, status, and engagement in Salesforce with clarity and accuracy at least daily


  • Coordinate internally with marketing and delivery teams as needed for proposal prep, prospect nurturing, and context sharing


  • Provide light support with outbound campaign coordination and follow-ups



Account Management



  • Own a book of existing clients and build relationships that increase retention and engagement


  • Conduct regular check-ins to ensure client satisfaction and delivery alignment


  • Collaborate with PMOs and internal stakeholders to resolve friction points (and proactively get in front of them before they become friction points)


  • Track upsell opportunities and either own or coordinate the follow-up


  • Keep Salesforce updated with client touchpoints, risk flags, and growth opportunities




What Success Looks Like



  • At least 25 high-quality discovery calls booked per quarter with ICP-aligned prospects


  • Consistent presence at strategic local events, with lead capture and documented follow-ups


  • Top-of-funnel health: pipeline consistently fed with qualified opportunities across our verticals


  • Salesforce data hygiene: prospect insights, flags, and follow-up tasks are clearly tracked and visible


  • Director of Strategic Partnerships is free to focus 80%+ of their time on strategic closing and proposal work because you’re handling prospecting and data integrity


  • Worthwhile is seen as a relationship-first player in the local Greenville market and Southeast


  • Clients feel seen, supported and excited about continued partnership with Worthwhile


  • Upsell opportunities are identified and supported regularly


  • You become a trusted relational bridge across our sales and client ecosystem



What You Bring



  • 3+ years in lead generation, inside sales, partnership development, or a related growth role


  • Strong interpersonal EQ and a natural connector—people open up to you because you’re curious and real


  • Ability to confidently research and identify decision-makers and pain points in a B2B context


  • Experience qualifying leads using BANT or a similar methodology


  • Organized and proactive with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)


  • Willingness to attend and work in-person events regularly in the Greenville area and Southeast Region


  • Experience in tech, consulting, or software services is a plus, but willingness to play the long game of developing the right client relationships is more important
