PARTS ADVISOR / COUNTER
Job Overview:

The Parts Advisor or Counter Person is responsible for assisting all mechanics and customers in purchasing needed parts and supplies for their vehicles. This position will require organizational skills, light math skills, customer service experience, and the ability to utilize both hard-copy manuals and electronic searches for accurate part searches. The Parts Advisor / Counter reports directly to the Parts Manager

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Track all incoming and outgoing parts for Marthaler Automotive. 

- Receive and put away daily shipments. 

- Package and ship parts back to the manufacturer from time to time; complete the appropriate record keeping. 

- Locate available parts when the dealership is out of stock and be knowledgeable of the procedures for ordering new and / or special parts.

- Ensure parts used in repairs are correctly documented, deducted from inventory, and restocked.

- Make decisions and solve problems; analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions.

- Manage and sort through multiple sets of numbers.

- Have high attention to detail and strong communication skills with Parts Team, Mechanics, Service Advisors, and customers.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid Driver’s License

• Experience in an auto parts role (dealership or auto store) preferred.

• Proficient computer skills and ability to adapt to changing technology.

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• Capable of lifting over 20 pounds.

• Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
