Parts & Towing Specialist

Join the team at McSweeney Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram as a Parts & Towing Specialist in Pell City, AL. The Tow Truck Driver / Parts Associate is responsible for safely transporting and recovering dealership vehicles, assisting with parts operations, and supporting the Service and Parts Departments with daily operational needs. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, organization, and timely completion of assigned duties. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Towing & Vehicle Transportation

• Safely operate dealership tow trucks and other assigned vehicles.


• Pick up and deliver vehicles and/or parts to and from customers, auction facilities, body shops, vendors, and other designated locations.


• Transport disabled, damaged, or service vehicles as directed by management.


• Properly load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles in accordance with safety procedures.


• Complete required vehicle pickup and delivery documentation.


• Inspect tow equipment and assigned vehicles before use and report any maintenance or safety concerns.


• Maintain a clean and organized tow vehicle and equipment.


• Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers and outside vendors.


• Follow all applicable traffic laws, dealership safety procedures, and company policies.

Parts Department Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store incoming parts.


• Deliver parts to technicians and other dealership departments as needed.


• Pick up parts from outside vendors and suppliers.


• Assist with inventory organization and maintaining accurate parts locations.


• Assist with returning incorrect, damaged, or unused parts to vendors.


• Maintain an organized and clean parts area.


• Assist Parts and Service personnel with locating and transporting parts.


• Help load and unload parts shipments and other dealership materials.


• Perform other parts-related duties as assigned.

General Dealership Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the dealership in a positive manner.


• Provide dependable support to the Service, Parts, Sales, and other dealership departments.


• Follow all dealership policies, procedures, and safety requirements.


• Complete required company, manufacturer, safety, and job-specific training.


• Maintain any licenses, certifications, or qualifications required to perform assigned duties.


• Report accidents, vehicle damage, customer concerns, or other incidents to management immediately.


• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the dealership's insurance requirements.


• Ability to safely operate a tow truck and other dealership vehicles.


• Previous towing, automotive, dealership, parts, or service experience required.


• Ability to safely lift, move, load, and unload parts and equipment.


• Strong organizational and time-management skills.


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


• Ability to communicate professionally with customers, employees, vendors, and management.


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


• Dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
