Job Description - Parts Associate

Description

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility for this position is to provide exceptional customer service to Minnesota Air customers by quickly and efficiently finding resolution to any issues that arise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Greets customer on sales floor or telephone and determines make, type, and quantity of merchandise, desired.
  • Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of items such as quality and utility.
  • Prepares sales slip or sales contract using computer system.
  • Receives payment or obtains credit authorization.
  • Processes merchandise and help with warranty returns.
  • Resolves customer requests and complaints.
  • Maintains inventory and appearance of parts showroom area – including but not limit to; shelf restocking and organizing products on shelving for display.
  • Fills orders for UPS, will call, and truck orders when necessary.
  • Advises Parts Product Specialist of inventory levels or stock depletions that could affect customer availability.
  • Maintains working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Continues to upgrade knowledge by working with manager(s) and other subject matter experts to enhance skills including but not limited to; new product introductions, industry changes, new techniques, new applications including any unique customer service issues.
  • Organizes and cleans personal work area.
  • To include warehouse duties as required.
  • Available on-call and Saturdays.
  • Participates in continuous learning & development and training initiatives through department specific trainings, MN Air University, HR training programs, tech-support led courses, Webinars, or other job-related trainings to foster a continuous learning and development mindset.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to use phones, Computer CRT’s, and other interactive communication devices
  • Ability to define and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • HVAC/Mechanical background (preferred)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or HVAC technical school.
  • One to three years related experience in HVAC.
  • Equivalent combination of the above education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License (required)
  • EPA CFC Certification, Type 2 or Universal (preferred)
  • Forklift Certification (required – can be obtained at MAI)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to travel to other branches to assist in day to day City Desk activities. In addition, the ability to travel for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the area.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate – computers, phone calls, and conversation pursuant to working goals.
  • Ability to learn and work with material handling equipment.
  • Frequent standing.
